Don't Go Unprepared!

Armor of God!

We would never thing to step into a race without training and preparing our physical bodies. Likewise, we would never think to go into a battle having never shot the weapon we carried in our hands.

The same goes for sharing the Gospel...don't go unprepared.

Don't go if:

  • You are not in the Bible daily getting fed, encouraged, and filled with His truth.

  • You are not in prayer daily, intimately seeking the face of your Savior. You can't do this in your own strength...it is God who touches hearts, not us.

  • You are in sin that you know of and haven't repented for. First, get on your knees before your Lord, repent, turn away from your sins. I'm talking more than just, "I'm sorry, God." Read more about this here.

  • You think you have anything to bring to the conversation. You don't...it is only God working through us that helps anyone or leads to salvation or healing.

  • You think, "I got this!" It is the humble, weak vessels that God is able to use. I've done this, I know how dry and ineffective sharing the Gospel becomes when I think I don't need Him to lead and guide all of it.

  • You want to share the Gospel to impress others. This isn't about you in any way, shape or form. It is about Jesus and His glory and His desire to touch or save or heal that person that He loves WAY more than you do.

I'm not saying you can't share the Gospel if you aren't PERFECT! I assure you, Jesus is the only One who can claim perfection.

We are a Cracked Pot

I'm reminded of the story of the cracked water pot. Each time he was filled and carried to the home for use, he dripped water along the path all the way back. He felt so bad that he wasn't doing the job he was intended...that he lost so much water along the way. But in the end, all that dripping led to flowers growing along the path.

We are kind of like that pot. We are cracked and imperfect but in our weakness, He is strong (2 Cor 12:8-10). And when we humble ourselves and give Him our issues, He can bring good from the bad. (Rom 8:28) Oftentimes, our struggles of today become our testimonies for tomorrow.

No Excuses!

Don't use the list above as an excuse to NOT share the love of God with others! Read here if you need a reminder that sharing the Gospel is for ALL of us!

Instead, look at that list above. Ask God where you need some help and then seek Him! Get in the Word, daily! Get intimate with your Savior! Make war on your sins! Get a clear picture that this is all about Jesus!

There are people dying to hear what you have to say about your Savior!
